Spencer Shout caught a large number of trophy pike but didn't quite break the 46". Certainly not from lack of trying!!! I know he will next year!!!! This one is a beauty.

Sorry for taking so long posting my blog. Been super busy!!!!
Water level is above average. Weather conditions have been windy and we've had lots of rain although we welcome the rain due to below average water levels we have had.
Fishing has been good. The trout stayed up much longer than usual. They are now deep so buzz bombs and other deep water tackle is now necessary. Trout are biting extremely well on buzz bombs right now.
Walleye fishing has been tremendous until the last couple days and has now dropped right off due to the May Flies. They will likely be off for a week or so until things get back on track. Walleye have been getting bigger every year. A large number have been released over the 23 inch mark.
Pike fishing has been different due to the high water. We noticed yesterday that pike are in very deep water. We recommend heavy spoons for pike fishing right now.
Congratulations to Bill Gates team from Edmonton. They caught a good number of trophy pike with the larges one 45 inches.
We are waiting on information from the Texas group, JT, Jim and Don. I'll be contacting them shortly for their pictures to post.
Here are some from Bill Gates.

NEWS FLASH
Sunday June 6, 2016
Fishing is officially underway. Irvin and Ron went to Wathaman yesterday to put the final touches on. Tested the water to see if there was any fish left after the winter. Fishing is extremely good right now.
Pike are in the shallows and really aggressive. Trout are right up on top. If it's trout your after, just put a hook in the water!!! While testing the waters, Irvin caught and released a huge trout. Said it was over 30 inches but of course no camera, but Irvin never lies!!!!
A party of four from Alberta went out this morning and caught their limit of Walleye in about one hour. Had to released at least four over the 23 inch slot and have no idea how many small ones they released!!

Happy May 31, 2016 ---- I'd like to apologize for not putting a blog up sooner.
The crop is in and we have moved to the camp. We made a short trip up here two weeks ago to check the camp. We installed a new computer system and phone (306-700-5821) all which seem to be working much better.
When we arrived in camp the ice was just going out. We watched the last piece sink around 3pm on the Saturday.
The lake is up somewhat which is good. And guests will start to arrive on June 2nd.
Haven't been to Wathaman yet but plan to go tomorrow.
We will do a follow up on the fishing as soon as we get out on the lake.

Another holiday season is upon us. We would like to take a minute out of my very busy life to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Reflecting upon 2015 I have to say it was a successful year. We had a great season and hope to follow suite in 2016.
Bookings are coming, with any luck we will have another great year.
We haven't got much snow here as of yet and it is my understanding that the same is for Davin. The temperatures have been a bit above normal. The long range forecast is for an above normal winter for snow and temperature. Hopefully that means an early spring!!!
As we get closer to spring, we will post an update for the 2016 season.
Again, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas season with lots of food, fun and family.

Congratulations to Watt Waugh from Medicine Hat. Matt caught and released a 45.5 inch Pike to capture the title of Davin Lake's Pikemaster for 2015. Matt came with a group of fishermen from the Medicine Hat area on June 25th. He caught his trophy on June 27th.
