Well the bus has come and gone for 2016.  We had a great weekend, weather cooperated and fishing was on and off, due to the changing weather patterns.  But we had a great bunch of fishermen on board and the boys dug into their tackle boxes and used different lures and technics.
Bob and Manny joined us from Denver, Co.  They heard about all the fun we have so they decided to come up and take part in the event. They made a bunch of new friends and had a terrific time.    Manny ended up catching and releasing the biggest pike so he won the free trip back for 2017.  This is the email I received from Manny:

Bob and I really enjoyed the bus trip from Melfort.  The group of folks from Melfort and Prince Albert were great company for the last leg of the trip and in camp.  The trout were down, the weeds were up, and walleye were on the move but fishing was great as usual and we still caught over 25 fish each full day of fishing.  We also caught one trophy pike (39 inches) and three trophy walleye in two days.  We just had to work a bit harder than usual.  Our fish make it home in good shape.  They were not as hard as usual but when you put as many fish in to the freezer as we did as a group, on the last day, that is to be expected.
I was amazed at the way you and Irvin were organized to accommodate such a large group and keep the quality of the food and service at the level I have become accustomed to over the last thirty years of fishing at Davin.  You are awesome!!
Bob and I had just about made up our minds to make the bus trip again next year in addition to our regular trip in June.  Catching the largest pike for this trip really closed any debate.  We will see you in June and July next year.

We are now into August, walleye fishing is picking up.  It seems to be getting better each day.  Pike fishing is tremendous right now but the trout appear to be a bit weak.  I don't know why unless it is due to the extremely high water we have here this year.
